Hi I put in a new starter on a friends 96 neon and long story short I'm not confident that my wiring is correct. The starter clicks but does not engage and the engine wont turn over. Does any one have pics of the correct wiring for the starter. I've attached a pic of a diagram light sources I found but my car is different from the diagram and does not have the lower plug coming out of the shielded harness. That plug come from a different harness on my car. Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

I found but my car is different from the diagram and does not have the lower plug coming out of the shielded harness. That would be your problem. That plug is what tells the solenoid to activate and the starter motor.
