The book I wish to discuss today is written by Rossella Grenci and Anthony Spina, Rhymes android fragments on consonant clusters Thanks to the wonderful blog of Scarlett I met her book that contains many nursery rhymes, games and activities. The rhymes in the book take into account the difficulties faced by children in reading sounds "difficult" as the teacher says Gloria, that is, those consonant clusters sometimes so stubborn to come out of the mouth or the pen ...! The choice of the use of rhyme is used as a therapeutic tool. Many children with specific learning disabilities (or not), are found to lag in the translation of signs, and as often happens discouraging for the few results obtained despite the commitment. The aim is to trigger motivation, trying to arouse interest in the child to the written text, the rhyme in this sense is a great help because it is part of the spoken language. The rhymes are then linked to emotionally rewarding experience, reassuring, grandmothers or mothers always use these rhythmic sounds, often with absurd conceptual approaches, but they do laugh. In the second part of the book we find the words encountered in reading nursery rhymes, and learning takes place right through the pun, creating a "data bank". You will also find exercises android fragments that allow you to combine the reading to writing, etc. etc.. You can browse the book here. In short, this book will use again and would consider it a great tool to consolidate some useful concepts for a start or a restart through the world of graphic signs and reading. With this book, I participate in the Friday of the book
